Durban is the major centre in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. It is situated on the East Coast of South Africa. It was named in 1825 after the Cape Governor of the time, Sir Benjamin D'Urban, after initially being named Port Natal.

It is also a major centre of tourism due to the city's warm subtropical climate and numerous beaches and warm sea temperature.

Durban is a great place to start your exploration of KwaZulu-Natal.
